The chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ekiti State, Paul Omotosho, has been abducted.
Reports indicate that Omotosho was kidnapped on Saturday evening while travelling along the Agbado-Imesi-Ekiti road in the Gbonyin Local Government Area of the state.
Credible sources confirmed that gunmen launched an attack on Omotosho's vehicle, firing multiple gunshots before forcefully taking him into the bush.
Omotosho, a native of Imesi-Ekiti, was reportedly en route to his hometown at the time of the incident.
The state APC Publicity Secretary, Segun Dipe, confirmed the kidnapping, stating, "Yes, our chairman has been kidnapped this evening, and we are already working with security agencies towards securing his release."
