Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde on Friday elevated Olubanda cabinets high chiefs to Kings

The event took place at Mapo Hall in Ibadan and was attended by numerous esteemed dignitaries, including traditional rulers from neighbouring towns and states in the Southwest.

Under this new development, the eleven high chiefs who are members of the Olubadan advisory council will now wear beaded crowns, symbolizing their new status as kings. Additionally, the Ibadan paramount ruler, Oba Lekan Balogun, will be accorded the honourable title of Royal Majesty.

At the time of reporting, the event was still ongoing, and a video capturing the momentous occasion was shared. Watch HERE

The elevated high chiefs include Balogun of Ibadanland, Owolabi Olakulehin; Otun Olubadan of Ibadanland, Rasheed Ladoja; Otun Balogun, Tajudeen Ajibola; Osi Olubadan, Eddy Oyewole; Osi Balogun, Lateef Adebimpe; Ashipa Olubadan, Biodun Kola-Daisi; Ashipa Balogun, Kola Adegbola; Ekerin Olubadan, Hamidu Ajibade; Ekerin Balogun, Olubunmi Isioye; Ekarun Olubadan, Bayo Akande; and Ekarun Balogun, Abiodun Azeez.
