The mother of Goodnews Emuemu, the young Nigerian artist known as Gnewzy and signed to Eric Many Records, has made a passionate plea to the kidnappers of her son to release him safely.
Shortly after the singer was whisked away, the kidnappers were said to have sent an email to the record label, seeking a ransom of $200,000.
Gnewzy was apparently kidnapped after a performance, and his captors are reportedly demanding a large ransom from his management team to ensure his safe return.
A statement issued by Dayo Showemimo, the record label's project coordinator, indicated that they are actively working with law enforcement agents to resolve the situation.
A deeply emotional video surfaced online capturing the distraught mother of Gnewzy, unable to contain her anguish as tears streamed down her face.
Gripping her head with both hands, she made a heartfelt plea directly to her son’s abductors, begging them to release her only beloved child.
The singer’s manager, Obas9ice, who was also in the vehicle when the incident happened, said they were accosted on Eklat Road in the Ughelli area of Delta state by some armed men who were dressed in police uniforms.
