The Lagos State Government has announced that residents will see a reduction in transportation costs with the implementation of President Bola Tinubu’s compressed natural gas initiatives.
Sola Giwa, the Special Adviser to the Lagos State Governor on Transportation, made this statement during a park-to-park CNG mobilisation programme in Lagos.
Giwa emphasised that the CNG initiative would not only cut transport fares by 50 per cent in the state and country, but also reduce dependence on petrol.
He highlighted the importance of supporting the government's initiative to switch to gas for running vehicles, saying it would significantly lower transportation costs.
Additionally, Najeem Yasin, a former National President of the National Union of Road Transport Workers, urged transporters to embrace the initiative in order to reduce passenger conveyance costs and alleviate the burden on the masses.
