Nollywood actress Bimpe Akintunde, also known as Wasila Coded, who gave birth to her second child in July, has shared that her pregnancy journey was filled with fear, featuring significant health issues and numerous emergency hospital trips.
In an Instagram post on Friday, she opened up about the difficulties she encountered while expecting her baby. She disclosed that she struggled with severe low blood pressure throughout her pregnancy, which at one point made her collapse on a film set.
“I began coping with low blood pressure in January, but I remained resilient and continued working. I recall collapsing on #iamkennygorge in early February while filming The Return of Sambala in Ikorodu. Fortunately, my clinic is located in Ikorodu, so I drove myself there immediately,” she explained. According to her, the condition frequently necessitated emergency hospital visits.
“I went in and out of the hospital for emergency treatment about six times during my pregnancy, all due to low blood pressure,” she mentioned. Akintunde further revealed she experienced disturbing dreams and alarming prophecies during this time but leaned on her faith.
“I had numerous terrifying dreams and death warnings from individuals who neither saw me nor knew I was pregnant. It truly was a challenging and frightening journey, but one thing I am certain of is that God was with me. He would never abandon me,” the actress expressed.
Reflecting on the delivery, Wasila Coded noted that she had gone to the clinic on July 17 for treatment but unexpectedly went into labor the following morning. “On Friday morning, as I was preparing to leave, the doctor in charge called me to the delivery room for a check.
She advised me to stay; the baby was on its way! My heart raced,” she recounted. Akintunde described the childbirth as a quick and miraculous experience.
“As the contractions intensified, I didn’t even realize where I had dropped my phone. Amazingly, all this happened in less than three hours, and my precious gift from God arrived! After almost ten years, I gave birth naturally; no C-section, no complications, and with the fastest labor recorded at the clinic this year. Both mom and daughter are doing well.
Thank you, dear God; it could only be You,” Wasila Coded concluded.
