The management of the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, Bauchi, has enhanced research capabilities for its staff to better prepare them for future challenges and career opportunities.
The management, through the Directorate of Research Innovation and Development of the university, organised a two-day training programme to boost lecturers' capacities.
Speaking at the event, the Acting Vice Chancellor of the university, Prof. Sani Usman Kunya, urged participants to take advantage of the training opportunity and learn.
He stated, “The participants must be informed that the university is not a place to gather riches but to sacrifice and contribute your quota in terms of research for the development of the country.
“The two days of intensive training were not about deliberations only, but gaining knowledge and using it to come up with models of training other students to change the current narrative.”
Also speaking, the Director of Research and Development of ATBU Bauchi Professor Fatima Sawa, hinted that “the 150 young academics were carefully selected for the workshop training to cope with the current reality as the world has now turned into a global village.
“The training will serve as a life changer to the young academics, and you should use the knowledge gained to improve yourselves and the university at large.”
