Nollywood Actress and Filmmaker, Toyin Abraham has responded to Nigerians who have criticized her for campaigning and voting for President Tinubu.

In recent days, the actress has faced criticism from Nigerians who are experiencing economic hardship. Many people have used social media to criticize her for campaigning for Tinubu during the presidential election.

She recently trended on social media for some of her philanthropic efforts. The actress, who is a huge fan of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, declared her desire to gift 50 people N5,000 apiece.

However, Toyin's declaration was met with intense condemnation from many Nigerians, who lambasted her for supporting Tinubu during the 2023 elections.

The filmmaker earlier announced on her website that she would be presenting N5,000 to 50 Nigerians every Friday for the following few weeks. Toyin Abraham had stated that the $5,000 was for transportation for individuals who came to pick up the goods she wanted to provide to some of the masses struggling to make ends meet.

Amid the country's continued suffering and inflation, the actress decided to provide whatever help she could by assisting those in need.

In a statement on her Twitter page, she stated that she and some of her friends came up with the concept together and would thus be aiding 50 people every Friday by presenting them with N5,000 for lunch and transportation.

The actress shared that this philanthropy was a collaborative effort between herself and a sponsor.
