The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) will officially present Finidi George as the new head coach of the Super Eagles at an unveiling ceremony in Abuja on Monday morning.
Prominent figures expected to attend the event include Minister of Sports Development John Enoh, Permanent Secretary Tinuke Watti, NFF President Ibrahim Gusau, and NFF General Secretary Mohammed Sanusi.
George, a former Super Eagles player with 62 caps and winner of the Africa Cup of Nations gold, silver, and bronze, recently left his position as coach of Enyimba FC to take on the national team role.
He had a successful tenure at Enyimba, leading them to the Nigeria Professional Football League title in his second season.
George's first challenge as head coach will be to secure maximum points in the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying matches against South Africa and the Benin Republic.
He previously served as an assistant coach to José Peseiro, during which the Super Eagles qualified for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations and narrowly missed out on the title.
