The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Alhaji Mohammed Idris, has emphasized the crucial need for the support of all Nigerians to improve the quality of life.
Idris stated this on Saturday in Kaduna during a reception organized in his honor by the Kaduna State chapter of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR).
He highlighted that the government is implementing numerous programs to enhance citizens' lives, and emphasized the necessity of support and collaborative efforts to achieve these goals.
Idris pointed out that removing fuel subsidies has resulted in a significant boost to the agricultural sector, with an increase in dry season farming activities. He also mentioned that the Central Bank of Nigeria has approved the distribution of over two million bags of fertilizers to farmers.
Furthermore, he emphasized the government's decision to stop subsidizing farmers without farms and reiterated the commitment to the well-being of citizens, citing the appreciation of the naira against the dollar.
Idris urged for patience, collaboration, support, and understanding from citizens as the government continues to develop policies for the benefit of Nigerians.
He also mentioned the release of 42,000 metric tonnes of assorted grains to alleviate the hardship faced by citizens due to rising food prices.
