Air Marshal Hasan Abubakar, the Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), has committed to the Nigerian Air Force's (NAF) support for Nigeria's film industry, also known as Nollywood.
He mentioned this while hosting famed Nollywood actor Toyin Abraham at his office. While praising Abraham's contributions to the Nigerian film industry, Air Marshal Abubakar also praised Nollywood's positive role in exhibiting Nigeria's broad and rich cultural history, as well as its impact on worldwide viewers.
He also emphasized the significance of utilizing Nollywood's popularity and impact to promote a positive image of the Armed Forces of Nigeria (AFN) by highlighting its numerous successes, particularly in the continuing fight against all forms of criminality in the country.
In conclusion, the CAS informed her of NAF's cooperation in the form of equipment needed to translate videos, which would be mutually beneficial.
Previously, Toyin Abraham expressed her enthusiasm for the partnership, highlighting the importance of storytelling in bridging barriers and building unity.
She expressed her commitment to programs that would positively depict the NAF and the AFN, as well as the bravery and dedication of its personnel.
Toyin Abraham, a prolific actor, producer, and director, is renowned for her roles in various movies such as, “Celebrity Marriage”, “The Ghost and the Tout” and many others. She was accompanied on the visit by her manager, Mr Samuel Olatunji.
