A section of the state high court complex collapsed on Ekiti State Chief Judge, Justice Oyewole Adeyeye, on Wednesday, July 12, around the close of work.
Justice Adeyeye was still in his chamber at the time of the collapse, and he sustained a severe injury. He is currently receiving medical attention at an undisclosed hospital in the state.
The incident may not be unconnected with the structural deficit worsened by the torrential rainfall.
While this is an unfortunate situation, no life was lost during the collapse, but the Chief Judge was rescued from the rubble with serious efforts from workers.
Members of the Press seeking more details on the incident were not attended to.
The court registrar through a staff told Pressmen to return at a later for more information as they are currently gathering facts about the incident.
