The House of Representatives will hold an inquiry hearing on the alleged mismanagement of COVID-19 intervention money from 2020 to 2022.
The House Public Accounts Committee's hearings will take place from Wednesday, January 17 to Friday, January 26 at the National Assembly Complex in Abuja.
Bamidele Salami, Chairman of the Public Accounts Committee, had already asked 59 federal government ministries, departments, and agencies to participate in the exercise.
These MDAs are divided into eight categories: Accountant-General of the Federation, Nigerian Export Promotion Council, and Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria.
Nigerian Airspace Management Agency, Nigerian Meteorological Agency, and Rural Electrification Agency. Others include the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, the National Institute for Pharmaceutical Research and Development, and the National Obstetric Fistula Centre, Abakaliki.
The National Commission for Refugee Migrants and Internally Displaced Persons Offices, the National Directorate of Employment, the Federal Road Maintenance Agency, a host of federal ministries, and various security agencies such as the Nigerian Air Force, Nigeria Police Force, and the Federal Fire Service make up the remaining institutions invited.
In a statement released on Tuesday, House spokesperson Akin Rotimi stated that each MDA "is to be represented by its Chief Executive Officer, Head of Finance, Head of Procurement, and Officers who are conversant with the expenditures of the COVID-19 Intervention Funds."
