Say goodbye to the stress of sending incomplete or typo-ridden Instagram DMs! Meta in March 2024 introduced a new feature that allows you to edit your direct messages for up to 15 minutes after sending them.
Previously, your only option was to delete the embarrassing message and send a corrected version. This update brings much-needed convenience to the Instagram messaging experience.
Here's how to edit your DMs on the Instagram app (make sure you've updated the app to the latest version):
1. Open the Instagram app.
2. Tap the Messages icon in the top right corner.
3. Select the conversation containing the message you want to edit.
4. Long-press the message you want to change until a menu appears.
5. Choose "Edit" from the menu options.
6. Edit your message and tap "Send" again.
It's important to note that editing your message might not be invisible to the recipient.
If they received a notification for your DM, they might have already seen the original version before you edited it.
This new feature offers a much-needed safety net for those who occasionally send messages before double-checking them.
So next time you fire off a DM with a typo, take a deep breath - you have 15 minutes to fix it!
