The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Tesla, Elon Musk, has announced on social media that there will be no refreshed Model Y launching this year.
Musk emphasized that while there will be no "refresh" for the Model Y, Tesla continuously improves its cars, so even a slightly newer car will have some improvements.
Tesla has been slow to update its older models due to decreased consumer interest in big-ticket items and increased competition in the Chinese auto market.
Additionally, the company's global vehicle deliveries dropped in the first quarter for the first time in nearly four years.
Last year, it was reported that Tesla was preparing to revamp production of the Model Y with plans to start production in 2024.
