A father who blogs about lifestyle has admitted to starving his newborn son to death in an attempt to demonstrate that the child could survive only on sunlight.
Mail Online claims that Kosmos, the kid of 44-year-old Maxim Lyutyi and 34-year-old partner Oxana Mironova, died of "pneumonia and emaciation" as a result of improper feeding when the boy was less than one month old.
The father from Russia stands to be sentenced to eight years in prison and fined for 'intentional infliction of grievous bodily damage'.
In his last court appearance before this week's sentencing in Sochi, he acknowledged his guilt.
The court was earlier told Lyutyi wanted to raise the newborn on prana-eating, a diet in which people go without food and water for a long time and 'feed on the sun'.
He was accused of barring the mother from breastfeeding the child, and was described as a 'radical raw food fanatic'.
A source said: 'He wanted to experiment on the child, feed him purely with the sun, and then advertise it to others that this is how you can eat,'
Oxana's mother Galina accused the sinister Lyutyi of running a 'sect'
