Tech giant Google has unveiled a series of AI-driven updates for Android phones, including live scam detection using its Gemini Nanotechnology.
Announced at their annual developer conference, these enhancements aim to improve user experience and safety.
Gemini Nano will analyze incoming calls in real time, warning users of potential scams and preventing them from falling victim to fraudulent schemes.
Google has stated that these features will be available later this year, initially launching on Pixel devices.
The Gemini Nanotechnology will also be utilized for other on-device features in the future. By understanding context such as sights, sounds, and language, Android phones will be better equipped to assist users with various tasks.
This includes improvements to TalkBack, a feature aimed at aiding individuals with blindness or low vision.
Additionally, Google is upgrading its Circle to Search feature, which allows users to search for information within apps using gestures.
The enhanced version will cater to students by providing step-by-step instructions for solving math and other problems directly from documents like Excel sheets.
In line with its commitment to AI advancement, Google also announced upgrades to its Gemini Pro 1.5 model, enhancing the chatbot's ability to process massive amounts of data.
This model will be available in 35 languages to subscribers of "Gemini Advanced" and will be offered to developers globally in a private preview.
These announcements come on the heels of OpenAI's unveiling of ChatGPT-4o, an updated version of ChatGPT-4 with improved text and audio handling capabilities in 50 languages.
Both companies are vying for dominance in the AI space, constantly pushing the boundaries of what's possible with artificial intelligence.
