Amazon Music has announced the launch of Maestro, an AI playlist generator.
The maestro will help users curate playlists, offering a seamless integration of AI technology into music streaming.
Amazon disclosed this on Tuesday, on its official website, stating that the maestro is still in beta testing in the U.S.
According to Amazon music, mastro will allow customers on both iOS and Android platforms to create playlists using spoken or written prompts, including the incorporation of emojis.
Users can input prompts encompassing activities, sounds, or emotions, with the AI generating a playlist tailored to match the input within seconds.
However, Amazon cautions that the technology behind Maestro is still in its infancy and may not always deliver perfect results initially.
To maintain a positive user experience, measures have been implemented to block offensive language and inappropriate prompts.
Maestro is available to a subset of free Amazon Music users, Prime customers, and Unlimited Amazon Music subscribers in the U.S.
Subscribers gain access to additional functionality, such as instant playlist streaming and saving capabilities.
Prime members and ad-supported users are limited to listening to 30-second song previews before saving playlists, potentially incentivizing upgrades to paid subscriptions.
Accessing Maestro requires the latest version of the Amazon Music mobile app, with users prompted to utilize Maestro when creating new playlists. Once initiated, playlists can be saved, shared, and enjoyed seamlessly.
While the company has not disclosed specific timelines for the broader rollout of Maestro, it emphasizes plans to expand availability to more customers in the future.
