A soldier with the 101st Airborne Division at Fort Campbell, Kentucky, was tragically found murdered in her off-base home in May 2024.
Pfc. Katia Dueñas Aguilar, 23, was discovered in her Clarksville, Tennessee, residence on May 18, and her mother made a public plea for information to help solve the case.
The mother of the deceased soldier stated that she left behind a four-year-old son.
The autopsy report revealed that Dueñas Aguilar had been stabbed approximately 68 times on her upper body and neck.
Also, the report indicated the presence of gamma-hydroxybutyric acid (GHB) and a blood alcohol content of 0.161 in her system.
GHB is known as a street drug that can cause memory loss and drowsiness and has been associated with sexual assaults.
Originally from Mesquite, Texas, Dueñas Aguilar enlisted in the Army in 2018 as an information technology specialist and was serving with the 101st Airborne Division's Combat Aviation Brigade.
No arrests have been made, and the names of any suspects have not been released.
A total reward of $55,000 has been offered for information leading to the arrest of her killer (s), with a portion of the reward coming from her mother and the League of United Latin American Citizens.
Dueñas Aguilar was facing removal from the service in early May after testing positive for marijuana.
However, due to her good conduct, strong performance, and desire to continue serving, she was allowed to remain in the military.
