Thailand- The Royal Thailand Embassy in Abuja as announced that Nigerian applicants wishing to obtain a visa for Thailand can now submit their applications online through the e-visa system.

The embassy stated that it will no longer accept physical applications. This new policy also extends to other African nations, including Ghana, Cameroon, Benin Republic, Congo, Central African Republic, Equatorial Guinea, Democratic Republic of Sao Tome and Principe, and the Republic of Chad.

In its statement, the embassy emphasized that applicants must be residing in the specified countries at the time of their visa application. It also mentioned that it reserves the right to cancel any visa application if the applicant fails to provide proof of their presence in these countries during the application process.

"Travel booking confirmation is required when submitting your visa application. This includes return flight details that show the applicant's name, departure and return dates, and all flights from the specified countries to Thailand. Once your application is received, the visa will typically be processed within five working days, although it may take longer in some cases," the embassy stated.

The embassy advised that applicants should apply at least four to six weeks prior to their intended travel date, but not more than three months in advance. Additionally, it noted that the visa fee is non-refundable, regardless of the outcome, and that the processing fee may change without prior notice.

Furthermore, the embassy retains the right to request additional documents, conduct in-person interviews in Abuja, modify visa categories as necessary, and reject applications without prejudice. It also cautioned applicants to submit authentic documents and information, warning that consequences would follow for those who provide false or fraudulent information.
