Olatosho Oshoffa, son of the late Founder of the Celestial Church of Christ, Worldwide, Bilewu Oshoffa, has shed light on how his father managed his extensive family of 13 wives and 53 children throughout his lifetime.

The cleric, fondly known as Tosho, who serves as the shepherd of CCC International Headquarters in Ketu, Lagos, highlighted the bond of love that characterized their family dynamics under his father's guidance.

Tosho in an interview with Punch emphasized the unity among family members, including the wives and numerous children, recalling his father's instructions to them: “Never say you are a son or daughter to any of my wives. But tell yourself, you are a son of Oshoffa.”

Unlike the typical scenario in some polygamous households where children may identify more with their respective mothers, Tosho explained how his father fostered a sense of collective identity among his offspring.

He remarked, “We don’t see ourselves as children of our various mothers but as children of Oshoffa.”

Reflecting on their harmonious relationship, Tosho emphasized that love and unity prevailed both during his father's lifetime and after his passing.

He maintained a familial bond with the wives, referring to them as "mothers" despite their varying ages relative to his own mother.

Addressing misconceptions about the family's size, Tosho clarified that his father left behind 13 wives and 53 children, dispelling rumours of a larger number of offspring.

With a sense of unity and love prevailing among the extensive Oshoffa family, Tosho affirmed, “The number of children is 53, but we are all in one love and one accord.”
