Elon Musk to Charge New X Users to Post

X CEO, Elon Musk said he will charge new users a small fee to create posts on the platform. 

Musk disclosed this in a reply to an X user when discussing bot issues on the platform. 

This move, according to Musk, is aimed at curbing the ongoing issue of bots plaguing the social media network.
The user, @wholemarsblog queries why X allows anyone to post without paying, which according to the user is the lead cause of bots on the platform. 

Musk in response said, "A small fee for new user write access" is the "only way" to combat the "onslaught of bots." 

He further argued that current methods like CAPTCHAs are easily bypassed by advanced AI and "troll farms." 

Elon Musk in his response did not state when this policy will be implemented or the specific fee amount for new users. 

As X continues to grapple with bot issues, it remains to be seen whether a pay-to-post system will become a reality.
