NELFUND reaffirms commitment to affordable education

The Managing Director of the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), Akintunde Sawyerr, has reiterated the agency's dedication to making quality education both accessible and affordable for everyone.

He expressed this commitment in a statement released on Friday, coinciding with the International Day of Education, which carries the theme, ‘AI and Education: Preserving Human Agency in a World of Automation.’

Sawyerr highlighted that the innovative student loan products are crafted to assist students in realizing their dreams and ambitions.

He stated: “We are thrilled to present our NELFUND Student Loan and the new Vocational Skills Loan Initiative, both aimed at enhancing access to education and skill development for all, bolstered by our ongoing AI-driven process optimization and commitment to educational inclusion in Nigeria.

“Education is the key to unlocking a brighter future. At NELFUND, we are devoted to ensuring that quality education is accessible and affordable for everyone.

“Our innovative loan offerings are tailored to help students achieve their dreams and aspirations. We continuously refine our processes using AI to guarantee we provide the best possible service.”

Sawyerr noted that NELFUND’s initiatives are in line with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

He added: “By fulfilling the mandate to enhance educational accessibility and quality, NELFUND is playing a role in creating a more inclusive and educated society, in accordance with the national vision.
