The Minister of State Petroleum Resources (Gas), Ekperikpe Ekpo, has urged governors, ministers of the Niger Delta region, government agencies, International Oil Companies (IOCs), development partners, and other key stakeholders to collaborate with the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) to accelerate the region's development.
Ekpo made the appeal during 6th Meeting of the National Council on Niger Delta (NCND) at Unity Hall, Government House Complex, Asaba, Delta State.
The summit focused on the theme: “Stimulating Strategies for Economic Growth and Development in the Niger Delta Region.”
Ekpo emphasized that the NDDC should not work in isolation but rather involve input from other stakeholders in formulating policies and projects for the region.
Ekpo said: “The Niger Delta region has the potential to contribute significantly to the country's development, but we need to work together effectively.
“The NDDC is a small entity designed for the Niger Delta region, and all stakeholders should provide their input and contribute to the decision-making process.
I urge stakeholders in the region to collaborate with the NDDC to outline the necessary steps for advancing the development of this region and our nation as a whole."
