Nations worldwide expressed a collective sense of relief on Wednesday as news broke of a groundbreaking agreement between Israel and Hamas. The deal encompasses the release of hostages and a temporary cessation of the intense fighting and bombardment that has plagued Gaza.
Approximately 240 individuals, spanning from infants to the elderly, were abducted during the October 7 attack orchestrated by Hamas, which claimed the lives of around 1,200 people in Israel, predominantly civilians according to Israeli authorities.
