In a renewed effort to curb escalating violence in the Middle East, the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) has issued a stern warning to Iran, urging the country to immediately halt its nuclear weapons program and cease its involvement in bomb attacks, particularly those targeting Israel.
The alliance raised serious concerns over Iran’s continued production of nuclear arms, describing it as a grave threat to regional and global security.
NATO emphasized that the ongoing missile and drone attacks linked to Iran—especially those directed at Israel—have resulted in significant loss of lives and property, further destabilizing an already volatile region.
Speaking at a high-level summit on Monday, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte underlined the alliance’s unified stance against Iran’s nuclear ambitions.
“We meet at a truly historic moment, with significant and growing challenges to our security,”
Rutte said. “Let me now first say a word on Iran. When it comes to NATO’s stance on Iran’s nuclear programme, Allies have long agreed that Iran must not develop a nuclear weapon. Allies have repeatedly urged Iran to meet its obligations under the Non-Proliferation Treaty.”
NATO’s warning comes amid rising international tensions and reflects growing pressure on Tehran to comply with global nuclear agreements and de-escalate its aggressive military posture.
