Shehu Sani, a former Kaduna Central Senator, has warned Nigerians to be wary of the N8,000 palliative from President Bola Tinubu's administration.
Sani said that those who collected the "jazzed" N10,000 under former President Muhammadu Buhari ended up in poverty". He urged Nigerians to pray before collecting the N8,000, as he believes that it may not be enough to lift them out of poverty.
Tinubu had unveiled plans to transfer N8,000 to 12 million poor households in the country. He said that the money would be transferred to poor Nigerians within the next six months.
Sani's warning comes as Nigeria is facing a severe economic crisis. The country's inflation rate is at a record high, and many Nigerians are struggling to make ends meet.
It is unclear whether the N8,000 will be enough to help poor Nigerians. However, Sani's warning is a reminder that the government's assistance may not be enough to solve the country's poverty problem.
