The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control and Prevention reported on Tuesday that as of July 15, 2024, there have been 3,623 suspected cases of Cholera and 103 deaths across 34 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
The Director General, Dr. Jide Idris, revealed these figures at a press briefing in Abuja, stating that the outbreak had affected 187 local government areas and had a cumulative case fatality rate of 2.8 per cent since the beginning of the year.
He also mentioned that the majority of those affected are five years old, with males accounting for 52 per cent of cases.
Additionally, there has been a 5.6 per cent decrease in the number of cases reported for the week of July 8th to 14th compared to the previous week.
