Three wolves at a zoo near Paris attacked a 37-year-old woman, leaving her in critical condition, according to a source familiar with the case and local prosecutors.
The woman was bitten on the neck, calf, and back at Thoiry Zoo, located about 40 kilometers west of Paris.
The Chief Prosecutor in Versailles, Maryvonne Caillibotte, stated that the woman's life was in danger.
The incident occurred after the woman spent the night with her family in a safari-style lodge at the zoo.
The lodge, located in the wolf zone, offers a unique and intimate experience with arctic wolves.
The woman ended up in the safari zone, where she was attacked by three wolves. It is unclear whether she made a mistake or the trail was not clearly marked.
First responders arrived quickly at the scene and the wolves were moved away. The zoo, founded in 1968, is currently under investigation by the police.
