The United States has issued a warning to international students about the potential consequences of breaching student visa rules.
In a message posted on its official X account on Monday, the US Mission in Nigeria emphasized that students who withdraw from their studies, miss classes, or abandon their academic programs without notifying their institutions risk having their US student visas revoked.
Such violations may also result in disqualification from obtaining future US visas, the statement mentioned.
The mission urged all student visa holders to fully comply with the conditions of their visas and maintain their academic standing to prevent any immigration complications.
"If you withdraw, skip classes, or leave your course of study without notifying your school, your student visa could be revoked, and you might lose the chance for future US visas.
Always comply with your visa requirements and uphold your student status to avoid problems," the mission stated.
