A video of the Central Criminal Court, better known as the Old Bailey, sentencing the Ekweremadus and their doctor, Obinna Obeta, has been circulated online.

The judge today, May 5, sentenced Ike Ekweremadu, the former Deputy Senate President, to nine years and eight months in prison, his wife Beatrice to four years and six months, and Obeta to ten years in prison after finding him guilty of trafficking in human organs in March.

According to what the judge stated, Ekweremadu will serve around 5–6 years in prison (about 2/3 of his 9–year prison sentence), while his wife will serve approximately 2 years in prison (about half of her 4–year term).
