In the midst of a dispute between Prof. Wole Soyinka and the Obidients, Mr. Peter Obi, the presidential candidate for the Labour Party, visited the Nobel Prize winner.
Playwright Soyinka had been dragged by Obidents, a nickname for Peter Obi's fans, after a comment he made criticizing the LP's vice presidential candidate, Datti Baba-Ahmed.
On the other side, Obi celebrated Soyinka's success on the international scene and his fight for a better Nigeria on Sunday via his Twitter account.
He declared that Soyinka's pursuit of justice would never be disregarded.
He clarified that the purpose of the trip was to dispel any unwarranted myths about Soyinka and the Obidients movement.
"I cherished this Sunday's visit," he said in the article, "which was intended to dispel the unnecessary myths about the relationship between the great icon and the Obidient family."
Obi, who finished third in the presidential election on February 25th, trailing President-elect Bola Ahmed Tinubu, is currently contesting the results at the Tribunal, which is scheduled to open on May 8th, 2023.
