In a tweet posted today on his X account, Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, shared an image of Earth as seen from space. The image, captured by the Starlink satellite constellation, showcases our planet in radio frequency.

"What Earth looks like in radio frequency from the @Starlink direct to phone satellites," Musk wrote in the tweet.

Starlink is a mega-constellation of internet-providing satellites currently being deployed by SpaceX.

The project aims to deliver high-speed internet access to remote and underserved areas globally. The constellation has already launched thousands of satellites, and SpaceX is continuously adding more.

While the details of the image itself are not available from the tweet description, it likely depicts variations in radio frequency signals across the planet. These variations could be caused by natural phenomena like the Earth's ionosphere or human-made radio emissions.

This is not the first time Musk has shared glimpses of Earth captured by Starlink satellites. In the past, he has posted images showcasing city lights at night.

The Starlink constellation has been met with controversy, with some astronomers expressing concerns about light pollution and potential impacts on astronomical observations. SpaceX has implemented measures to mitigate these concerns, such as darkening the satellites to reduce reflectivity.
