The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency recently appointed Franklin Nechi, Chairman of Optiva Capital Partners, and Dr. Jane Kimemia, Chief Executive Officer, as ambassadors for its War Against Drug Abuse initiative at a ceremony held at the company’s headquarters in Victoria Island, Lagos.
The initiative aims to raise awareness about the dangers of drug abuse, promote drug-free lifestyles, and strengthen community participation in combating drug problems.
During the ceremony, NDLEA’s Assistant Commander General of Narcotics, Mrs Archie-Abia Ibinabo, emphasized the goal of creating a safer and healthier society by reducing drug abuse and its impacts.
She highlighted the importance of leveraging the influence of prominent individuals to effectively combat drug abuse and illicit trafficking in Nigeria.
Nechi pledged to support NDLEA’s efforts to eradicate drug abuse and expressed plans to extend the campaign to educational institutions.
He emphasized the significance of addressing drug abuse in resolving related problems such as cultism, and expressed Optiva Capital's commitment to collaborating with the agency to eliminate these issues in universities.
He also mentioned Optiva Capital's experience in investment immigration and wealth retention, emphasizing their ability to enable families to seek global opportunities, including better healthcare.
