The Multi-National Joint Tasks Force (MNJTF) has advised the residents of Kukawa and its surrounding areas to ignore the threat of an attack by the Islamic State of West African Province (ISWAP), stating that it is simply a tactic to intimidate and instill fear.
In a statement signed by its Chief Military Public Information Officer, Lt Col. Abubakar Abdullahi, the MNJTF urged the residents to stay united and alert, and to report any suspicious activities to the troops immediately.
The statement emphasized the importance of collective vigilance and cooperation during Operations Lake Sanity 2 and beyond, highlighting that unity is crucial for ensuring the security of the Lake Chad basin region.
The MNJTF also addressed the recent propaganda spread by ISWAP, emphasizing that it is a desperate move by a group on the verge of defeat and urging communities to remain steadfast, vigilant, and confident in their safety.
