LAGOS, NIgeria- Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu has abolished the work-from-home policy previously set by his administration, instructing all public servants to revert to full on-site work starting April 1, 2025.
In February 2024, Sanwo-Olu had introduced a policy permitting civil servants at levels one to 14 to work just three days a week.
However, the Head of Service, Bode Agoro, stated on Tuesday that the decision to eliminate this policy was prompted by the implementation of the new minimum wage along with other welfare initiatives for state workers.
“Following the application of the New Minimum Wage in the state public service and other noteworthy measures established by this administration to enhance the welfare and well-being of public servants, the Governor has sanctioned the termination of the work-from-home initiative in the Lagos State Public Service,” the statement indicated.
He encouraged all public servants to recommit to their responsibilities and guarantee improved service delivery throughout Ministries, Departments, and Agencies. “Accounting officers are advised to take note of this circular and ensure it receives the necessary publicity across the service,” he added.
