The Dangote Petroleum Refinery has lowered the ex-depot price of Premium Motor Spirit, commonly referred to as petrol, from N880 to N840 per litre.
A spokesperson for the Dangote Group, Anthony Chiejina, verified the price change on Monday night, stating that the new price took effect on June 30.
“The PMS price has been decreased from N880 to N840 per litre starting June 30,” Chiejina mentioned. Reports previously noted that the Dangote refinery raised the petrol price to N880 amid rising tensions during the 12-day conflict between Israel and Iran, which pushed crude oil prices to nearly $80 per barrel.
Investigation revealed that marketers were expecting a new pricing structure from Monday.
Dangote’s partners, including MRS, Heyden, and AP, are on track to modify their pump prices shortly.
