Hilda Baci is now the official record holder for the longest cooking marathon, according to Guinness World Records.
On Tuesday, this was verified on their official website.
"Hilda Effiong Bassey, better known as Hilda Baci, has officially broken the record for the longest cooking marathon (individual), with a time of 93 hours 11 minutes," the article states. This is according to a careful analysis of all the available data.
"The 26-year-old Nigerian chef worked in the kitchen for four days, starting on Thursday, May 11, and finishing on Monday, May 15, producing over 100 pots of meals.
"Hilda tried to achieve a record of 100 hours, but she lost about seven hours when she overestimated the length of one of her rest breaks early in the attempt."
The previous benchmark, which Lata Tondon (India) established in 2019, was 87 hours and 45 minutes.
