Asharami Synergy Limited, a subsidiary of Sahara Group in Nigeria's downstream sector, has emphasized the positive impact of foreign exchange market stability on the aviation fuel industry.
The Head of Downstream Africa at Sahara Group, Foluso Sobanjo, made this statement at the International Air Transport Association’s Aviation Energy Forum in Vienna, Austria.
Sobanjo highlighted the potential benefits for the Nigerian aviation fuel sector, including reduced product costs, improved liquidity for airlines, and facilitation of foreign investment repatriation.
He also emphasized the importance of access to affordable credit for suppliers to support infrastructure development and operational efficiency.
Sobanjo called for collaboration and investment in infrastructure through Public-Private Partnerships to drive sustainable growth and development in the sector.
Sobanjo credited Asharami's strong performance in the aviation fuel market to its dedication to safety, technology-based solutions, and environmental sustainability.
He emphasized that the company has a track record of outstanding performance in the market, with a successful presence in Nigeria for over 20 years.
Sobanjo said: "Asharami Synergy holds the top position as the primary supplier of aviation fuel in Nigeria, commanding more than 20 per cent of the market share. Our dedication to excellence, quality, and safety has been recognized through various certifications from the International Organisation for Standardisation.
"With a current storage capacity of approximately 31 million litres spread across the nation, along with a fleet of 20 bowsers and plans for capacity expansion, we continuously strive to innovate and deliver exceptional Jet A1 solutions," he revealed.
Sobanjo emphasized that Asharami Synergy provides solutions that align with the needs of both local and international airlines operating in Nigeria. "Our commitment to excellence and safety sets us apart as the preferred provider of aviation fuel in the Nigerian market," he stated.
Meanwhile, speaking from Vienna, the Chief Executive Officer of Asharami Synergy, Nomnso Dike, highlighted the company's strategic partnership with IATA since 2009.
He also mentioned that their diverse product supply chain ensures availability and competitive pricing in the market.
"We are consistently investing in technology to enhance efficiency in our operations, including the adoption of digitalized tracking for our into-plane fueling processes, which also contributes to reducing CO2 emissions," Dike explained.
Dike also said that their dashboard system tracks and analyzes customer consumption patterns, enabling accurate demand forecasting and ensuring consistent product availability to meet supply obligations.
