The Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) has announced plans to leverage Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology to achieve company registration within minutes, aligning with global standards.
Hussaini Ishaq Magaji, the Registrar-General and CEO of the Commission, disclosed this during a meeting with Khalil Suleiman Halilu, the Executive Vice Chairman/CEO of NASENI, in Abuja on Tuesday.
Magaji emphasized that the CAC aims to utilize AI and high-powered computing (HPC) solutions from NASENI to realize this objective.
Since assuming office in October 2023, Magaji highlighted the rapid enhancement of the operational capacity of the CAC registration portal. He stressed the importance of integrating more technology-driven solutions from suitable partners to bolster and sustain the system.
"The Commission's ambition to adopt artificial intelligence for instant company registration in line with global standards can only be realized through strategic partnerships," Magaji remarked, citing NASENI's expertise in developing various technology solutions, including solar energy.
In response, the NASENI EVC mentioned ongoing efforts to implement an energy solution covering its premises and extending to the CAC.
Khalil Sulaiman expressed concern about private technology firms exploiting government agencies by offering redundant or overpriced solutions. He assured that NASENI's technology services would provide cost-effective alternatives that endure over time.
Bashir Aliyu, S.A. ICT to the NASENI boss, revealed collaborative efforts with NITDA, the National Centre for AI Robotics, and the Federal Ministry of Communications and Data Economy.
Their aim is to replicate advanced AI technology deployed in countries like the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia, enhancing Nigeria's AI capabilities.
