Charly Boy pens heartwarming tribute to late father

Nigerian singer Charly Boy has paid respect to his late father, Justice Chukwudifu Oputa, on his posthumous birthday.

In an emotional Instagram post, Charly Boy shared photos of himself and his father, expressing his profound love and admiration for his father and reflecting on the impact he had on his life.

He wrote: "This is for my hard/loving late father; we love and miss you so much Dad. Today being your special day, I just want to say how much we miss you and thank you for shaping me into the person I am today. If no be the rough way u take follow me, i for don lost."

"Heaven is lucky to have you. Happy Birthday dad, I'll never forget everything you did for me and my siblings and how much you went out of your way for us all. Ur name will never be forgotten; we will make sure of that. Help hail dis Daddy, over try worry am," he added.

Charly Boy spoke on The Honest Bunch Podcast in 2023 about how his father's influence and strong religious upbringing influenced his early life, sending him down a road he later realized was not for him.

During the conversation, the singer discussed his struggle to match his father's standards while maintaining a Christian upbringing. He admitted that his brief time at the seminary came to an end when he realized that the road to becoming a reverend father did not reflect his actual nature.
