Adidas is getting ready to start offloading the remaining Kanye West's Yeezy left over after dissolving commercial relations with the musician after his antisemitic outburst last year, valued at $1.3 billion.
The German sports gear and footwear company would also give the Anti-Defamation League and other organizations 'working to combat prejudice and hate, including racism and antisemitism' a part of its impending Yeezy product sales proceeds.
According to TMZ, the firm anticipates beginning the sale of the remaining pairs of Yeezy shoes as well as other stock items in the coming days. This will be the first opportunity for customers to purchase Yeezy products since October 25, when Adidas severed its partnership with the rapper and entrepreneur.
The incident that led to West's professional fallout started when he and several of his models appeared at his Yeezy Paris Fashion Week presentation on October 3 wearing shirts with the words "White Lives Matter" printed across their backs.
According to the Southern Poverty Law Center, the slogan was used by white supremacist and neo-Nazi organizations in reaction to the Black Lives Matter movement.
Later, the rapper used antisemitic language in tweets and interviews on Twitter.
One of his most notorious posts was when, shortly after his Instagram account had been suspended for what some users saw to be antisemitic content, he appeared to threaten Jews in a tweet.
On October 8, 2022, he posted a controversial message that started, "I'm a little sleepy tonight, but when I wake up, I'm going death con 3 On JEWISH PEOPLE."
In one of his first tweets in two years, he said, "The funny thing is I actually can't be Anti Semitic because black people are actually Jews also You guys have toyed with me and tried to blackball anyone whoever opposes your agenda."
