On June 22, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will attend a meeting of international leaders in Paris, France, to examine and sign the New Global Financial Pact, which prioritizes aid to vulnerable nations.
This comes after the disastrous effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, the energy crisis, and climate change.
On June 22 and 23, the President will take part in a two-day summit that will examine ways to give fiscal space back to nations that are struggling with short-term financial issues, particularly the most indebted ones; to mobilize creative financing for nations at risk from climate change; to promote development in low-income nations; and to encourage investment in "green" infrastructure for the energy transition in emerging and developing economies.
In order to provide access to finance and investment that will leverage inclusive growth, President Tinubu and other world leaders, multilateral organizations, financial experts, and economists will examine the recovery of economies from the COVID-19 pandemic's impact and rising cases of poverty more comprehensively.
The Summit will take place in Palais Brongniart and be hosted by French President Emmanuel Macron.
Senior government officials and members of the Presidential Policy Advisory Council will go with the President. On Saturday, he will return to Abuja.
Tinubu's journey to France for the conference will be his first official one since assuming office as president.
