The distribution of ready-to-use therapeutic food, also known as "TAMOWA," to children suffering from malnutrition in Sokoto State has been officially launched by the State Government.

The Commissioner of the Ministry of Health, Hajiya Asabe Balarabe, emphasized the importance of providing RUTF to improve the health of malnourished children and those affected by Ascites.

Significant resources have been allocated by the state government for the procurement and distribution of RUTF to all general hospitals in the state.

The Commissioner cautioned health personnel against diverting the RUTF and urged parents to utilize the aid to enhance their children's health.

She also praised the collaborative efforts of stakeholders in supporting this initiative.

The Director General of Sokoto State Drugs and Medical Supplies Management Agency, Pharmacist Umar Attahiru, emphasized the importance of monitoring the usage of RUTF for its intended purpose.

The Sole Administrator of Gwadabawa local government, Alhaji Mukhtar Bello Abdulrahman, expressed gratitude for choosing the area to launch the exercise and requested the ministry to consider upgrading a newly constructed primary healthcare center to a comprehensive hospital.
