The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has issued a serious warning to parents, advising them to stay alert for suspicious snacks in their children's bags and pockets.
In a post by the agency's spokesperson, Femi Babafemi, on X (formerly Twitter) on Sunday, he highlighted recent seizures where hard drugs were disguised as common treats.
"Narco-trend: Parents, please be cautious of substances that resemble sweets, chocolates, candies, or biscuits found in your children's belongings," Babafemi stated.
The agency noted that these misleading drug products were discovered during some of its recent operations, emphasizing the critical need for parental vigilance and prompt action.
