Kenneth Okonkwo, a veteran actor and spokesperson for the Labour Party Presidential Campaign Council, has predicted that Peter Obi, the party's nominee, will become the next president of Nigeria provided the presidential tribunal fulfills its "true bidding."
He said this lately while appearing as a guest on News Central's Politics HQ show.
"Peter Obi will be the next President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, by the grace of God, if the court of justice will live up to its true bidding of being a court of justice."
The Nigerian constitution, according to Okonkwo, specifically states that a candidate should not be proclaimed the winner of a presidential election if they receive less than 25% of the votes cast in the Federal Capital Territory.
He asserted that the judiciary must uphold its true purpose if Nigeria's democracy is to be saved.
