The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has announced on saturday that due to reduced gas supply from Nigeria, there will be power interruptions in Ghana lasting for three weeks.
The decrease in gas supply, which began on Wednesday, is a result of maintenance work being carried out by a Nigerian gas supplier, leading to a reduction in power generation capacity across Ghana.
ECG stated that load shedding will be implemented to manage electricity distribution efficiently and assured the public of collaboration with other stakeholders in the power sector to minimize the impact on consumers.
The Ghana Grid Company Limited (GRIDCo) and ECG are committed to effectively managing the disruptions to ensure that essential services remain uninterrupted during this period of reduced gas supply.
