Victoria Idowu, 49-year-old woman has reportedly hanged herself from a ceiling fan in her home in the Magboro neighborhood of the Obafemi-Owode Local Government Area in Ogun State.
Her son was reported to have raised the alarm after returning from church and finding his mother's lifeless body and reported the tragic incident to police authorities right away.
The State Police Public Relations Officer, Omolola Odutola, confirmed the incident and stated that no suicide note was discovered at the scene.
She said that law enforcement officials from the Ibafo Division had been sent to conduct additional investigation.
She, however, urged members of the public to always provide support to their loved ones who may be suffering from mental health challenges.
Odutola said an investigation is still ongoing to unravel the circumstances behind the sad incident, saying that suicide is unlawful.
