The Lagos State Government has revealed that five significant road projects in the Alimosho Local Government Area are set to be completed by the end of 2025.
This initiative underscores the government's dedication to infrastructure enhancement and better connectivity in the state’s most densely populated district.
The projects slated for development include the refurbishment of the Ijegun-Ijagemo Road, the construction of a network of roads in Ile Eja—which includes Ile Eja, Olaiya, Ajibola Hassan-Alhaji Mustapha, Olu Adeyanju, with a bridge, and Rabiatu Ogedengbe—as well as the Akesan-Igando Road.
During a site inspection on Tuesday, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Infrastructure, Olufemi Daramola, expressed his approval of the progress and quality of the work, emphasizing that these projects are in line with the state's overall connectivity and transport master plan.
A statement issued on Wednesday indicated that the roads are being developed alongside supporting infrastructure, such as drainage, sidewalks, and street lighting, which are crucial for reducing travel times, enhancing connectivity, and improving the quality of life for residents.
The Local community leaders praised the state government for the initiatives and requested the extension of the Ijegun-Ijagemo Road to connect with the LASU-Ojo Expressway to further improve regional accessibility.
The Managing Director of the construction firm overseeing the 5km dual carriageway at Ijegun-Ijagemo, Alex Tang-Li, reiterated his team's dedication to completing the road along with modern facilities by November.
According to the statement, the road projects are expected to alleviate traffic congestion in the Alimosho area and bolster economic activity in the region.
