The religious TV network, Emmanuel TV (DStv 390), established by the late Prophet Temitope Babatunde Joshua, founder of the Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN), is set to stop showing on MultiChoice’s DStv, GOtv, and other pay-TV services from January 17, 2024.
A notification on DStv conveyed, “Dear viewer, please note that Emmanuel TV will exit on January 17, 2024. Thank you for watching.”
In addition to leaving MultiChoice, it has been claimed that Emmanuel TV will no longer be available on StarSat and other pay-TV platforms.
Since the death of TB Joshua in June 2021, Emmanuel TV has reportedly struggled to generate fresh content and has relied primarily on rebroadcasting old stuff.
Following the death of the cleric, Pastor Evelyn Joshua, the late founder's wife, took over leadership of SCOAN.
Meanwhile, Emmanuel TV's planned departure from DStv coincides with a contentious three-part documentary made by the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) alleging atrocities and sexual crimes committed by the late TB Joshua against his adherents.
