Nigerian Gospel Singer, Aduke Ajayi, better known as Aduke Gold, has died.
On Tuesday, August 13, fellow gospel artiste Esther Igbeke shared the sad news on social media, posting a tribute with Aduke Gold's picture and the caption, "A general has fallen. RIP."
Aduke Gold made debut on the gospel arena with her hit track "Nitori Ogo".
It appeared on her popular eight-track CD, which was warmly appreciated on social media.
Aduke Gold was not only known for her soul-lifting melodies, but also for her amazing tale, which she published on Instagram about her early challenges.
Orphaned at four, she faced some challenges which saw her selling items such as slippers, yam, and fried fish to end out a living.
Aduke Gold revealed that she once packed fish heads at a frozen foods store and had learnt to cook with firewood when kerosene was scarce.
Apart from being a singer, she held a higher degree in Child Psychology, a Diploma in Montessori Education from the UK, and numerous other qualifications in Special Education.
She worked with children with special needs, including autism, cerebral palsy, and dyslexia.
